Fun educational maths games to play in school

Playing educational games in class is a great way to consolidate learning. Braingo allows ks1 and ks2 teachers to create subject-specific games using a tried-and-tested bingo format which is simple and fun to play, but still has real educational value. Teachers will find that by incorporating Braingo into their lesson planning maths lessons can become more interactive and engaging for their pupils. Feedback from both teachers and pupils has been positive about Braingo’s capacity to make learning exciting.

Teachers welcome Braingo as a valuable resource in the classroom. It can be used as an icebreaker activity to help pupils settle at the start of a class, or as a way of consolidating understanding of basic numeracy concepts introduced at ks1 and ks2. These include topics such as number bonds, time, units of measurement, fractions and decimals. Braingo maths games can also be used to familiarise pupils with key terminology in a particular subject area.

Braingo is quick and easy for staff to set up in the classroom. All that is required is basic computer hardware (a Windows pc and a printer), an internet connection and a web browser such as IE or Firefox. Once the system is set up then you are ready to go!

Braingo maths games ks1 and maths games ks2 are unique in that practising teachers from the UK have been closely involved in the development process, so schools can be confident that what they are buying is pedagogically sound. The questions are suitable for Years 1 to 6 and topics are closely related to the national curriculum. Questions are read out loud using good quality audio, supporting those children for whom literacy may be an issue.
